EA could come under the control of Saudi Arabia – Reuters reports that the EU has approved a $55 billion deal.

If the acquisition is completed:
➖ The Saudi fund will gain rights to Battlefield, Need for Speed, EA Sports FC (FIFA), The Sims, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and other franchises;
➖ There may be layoffs and a focus on the most profitable franchises;
➖ There are concerns that monetization in games will increase;
➖ Changes may affect content due to Saudi Arabian laws.

A final decision is expected on July 30th, and the deal also involves an investment company owned by Donald Trump's son-in-law.
